IoT Device Simulator for synthetic data

IoT Device Simulator for synthetic data

Jordi G. Castillon

This project has been developed within the framework of the AWS Amplify Hackathon 2023 in Hashnode:

OBJECTIVE: the generation of synthetic data for different purposes is absolutely relevant and, in the field of data simulation generated by IoT sensors, it can allow us, for example, to accelerate, increase and improve our machine learning models to create more robust, effective and less biased artificial intelligence systems and, especially, without having to have the large amount of real data captured by physical sensors with the consequent cost and need for resources that this entails.

And it is that as summarized:

“The IoT Device Simulator solution helps customers test device integration and improve the performance of their IoT backend services, through an intuitive web-based graphical user interface (GUI). The solution allows customers to create and simulate hundreds of connected devices without having to configure and manage physical devices or develop time-consuming scripts.”

Disclaimer: This project has been made for demonstration purposes for this hackathon. It is fully functional using the AWS service stack that CloudFormation deploys and already has its own front-end and a powerful backend. In a later phase, to be scaled, to our own integrated system we could separate it with our own pool of services in a self-managed Amplify, etc.
